Closing 2011

I have been mischievous and troublesome in many ways for the shouts gotten regular these days. Technically I have everyone at home within my grip and this includes the fearsome daddy. It's a subtle art perfected over time which I'm not proud of and hoping to loosen the grip for good influence and put a fix to my temper come 2012.
To end the year on a nice note, I helped Grandpa with a minor donation to win brownie points to make up for my not so impressive behaviour. I gave up my personal TV set (the one I use for cartoons shown on Unifi) for donation.
It was delivered to the 'Karunai Illam' Girls home. May not be the best giveaway but it's the least to close the year with. Happy New Year Girls.

Toddling @ Times Square & Science Center

Most families with school going kids would be spending the last few days of the holidays getting school supplies & uniforms. But I on the other hand had an entirely different plan.
I've got my uniform, books and pretty much set for 5 year old Kindergarten so how do I finish the next few days ... starting with Berjaya Times Square Theme Park!
Daddy completed some office work early so we hit the park yesterday right at opening time, 11am. I couldn't do the big rides for not meeting the height requirement so we settled for all the kiddy rides at Level 7. Roller Coaster in another year or 2.
It was pretty deserted and being the first few early birds at the park, we had the luxury of asking for 2nds and 3rds for each of our rides.
Even the kiddy bumper cars were empty. The ride attendants pushed some empty cars out for me so I had that crash effect while I took mine for a spin.
Part of the Merry-Go-Round setup was a tea cup that you could sit in and turn a handle in the middle that got the cup spinning while the ride was going on. Gave both daddy and myself a massive headache but the experience was exhilarating.
Cosmo was due to make an appearance but failing to spot him, this was the least I had.
This morning was round 2, a dash to the National Science Center hoping to emulate the Times Square experience enjoying the displays minus the crowd.
It was gradually building up throughout the morning but I had a whale of a time starting with this cool aqua tunnel.
I volunteered for the first activity at the science show and got myself a button for the effort. The 2nd one had heavy fire works. Both daddy & I kept a safe distance from the stage...:-p
Had a hand in some fascinating science ...
Made electricity ...
And some music too.
The Dino's Alive was going on so we took a detour to enjoy the animatronics. It was scary with the loud Dinosaur growls in a dim lit room. Didn't stay long.
This topped the animatronics! A showcase of how the idea was mooted by a Japanese company, Kokoro, the build and showcase of an actual Android.
She answered to any questions we posted which created some doubts if it was being dubbed by someone from behind the stage ... why? it spoke flawless Malay.
This got daddy a little irked. The Try-science unit was under maintenance.

My New Ride

Purely my selection and the colour to my taste. The Trinidad Scorpion Butch T pepper is the hottest pepper in the world but sports a very small size and so is my ride.
Scorching Heat burning the roads the last 1 week. Careful ...

School Starts January 4th ... :-(

Every kid gets the blues as the holidays draw to a close moreover if it's year end. I packed my 4 year old books and left it in a shelf high up and had a blast with no books in sight.
Yesterday we picked my 5 year old books from kindergarten and I'm getting an all new bag with a matching cap to go with it. Usual ABC and 123 but I also noticed a bit of Mathematics thrown in. Some new reading materials and couple of heavy Mandarin too.
Tough year ahead but I certainly am looking forward to it.

Merry Christmas!

Have a good one folks!

Toddling @ Taiping

Despite school closing Mid November, I had to push another month in holiday classes for Daddy couldn't stand seeing me laze around at home. No complaints, it was well worth the time but once that's was done with ... I went all out to enjoy the remaining 2 weeks.
At the North bound highway, Tapah R&R with my stopover buddy. While on the way to the Sleepy Town Taiping, we stopped for breakfast here on day 1.
The longest tunnel drive was another awesome experience.
Give and take 3 hours later, we reached Taiping and went straight to the hotel hoping to chill a while before stepping out for lunch. Daddy had compact 3 day itinerary in hand.
A simple, quiet town with lots of one way streets so missing a turn costs a long drive back.
We bunked at the Flemington which was conveniently located walking distance to the Taiping botanical gardens. Very comfortable but just a little narrow here and there.

Here are some of the notable places we stopped for our meals throughout the 3 days with the rest being takeaways and some light munch. The Chetty Nad had authentic Indian cuisine and the 'Ais Kacang' place had the best Popiah in town for evening snacks.
Yut Sun for some fabulous Hainanese lunch and of course the Su Hean for vegetarian meals. Both these places had dishes unheard of in KL so we stuffed ourselves to glory as the prices were very reasonable.
For fun activities, I got busy with all the major attractions in Taiping starting at the Taiping Equine Park for a lovely horse ride. Quite pricey for an enjoyable ride...

I finally overcame my fear of touching them thanks to their friendliness. Riding them on the saddle don't count since there's no direct contact .. ;-P
Water activities were all at the Botanical gardens.
I was trilled at both the Swan pedal boat and the 20 pax ferry ride. Getting on it crossing the age old jetty was frightening more than the actual ride.
We also made it a point to visit a temple which was so serene it brought that unknown calmness in me for about 30 minutes while I was there ...
Yet again, comparing with Singapore, I visited the Taiping Night Zoo. Not a bad effort but certainly lots to develop for their ride was super short lasting 20 minutes only.
Another first was a late brunch bite I took at the famous steamed turtle bun locally known as 'Mee Koo' bun. I simply enjoyed every bite of it.
Took an afternoon off for swimming at the hotel roof top pool. I'm a little sensitive in staying long in wet hair so a quick fix was the bathroom shower cap. Loved every minute of the trip and will definitely come back for I missed the Maxwell Hill visit this time around.

Here are some shots of the lovely Taiping Botanical Gardens.

Man's Best Friend ...

Here's my guardian and bodyguard lazing on a breezy afternoon. She's leashed else I won't have a nice lawn to admire while enjoying my evening hot chocolate.
Dogs are dogs no matter what breed they are. Vengeance unleashed!

M Community School Hols Carnival @ Southgate, KL

Mah Sing Group, a leading property developer in Malaysia hosted this fun school holiday carnival at their spanking new launch, The Southgate along Jalan Sungai Besi in KL.
It started yesterday with an array of activities for kids. This was part of the Mah Sing Community program, a giveback to the people for supporting all of their successful projects.
Santarina's kick started Day 2 followed by dance routines from other groups.
Everyone got a helium balloon each. Mine exploded while walking back to the car.
But I was more engrossed with my favourite past time ... Sand art.
Mr.clown was spotted and I grabbed myself a nice balloon sculpture hat.
And an appearance by Barney himself ...
At the games, I tried a 'feet' at soccer and no the ball wasn't swerving out of the path but it was my attempt at banana kick. It just needed a little more practice.
Now this wasn't my forte but an attempt to learn new tricks.
The finisher was the inflatable castle bouncer until the big boys came out to play ... grrrr!!
It was the season of giving so I hinted daddy to donate blood and without a wink the man gives a pint of blood. Sadly there were not many takers. Sometimes giving money alone may not serve everyone's need or purpose.
