Toddling @ Sunwave Music

Yesterday I started the first of my 8 classes at Sunwave Music, a deal daddy got on Groupon. The classes were tailored for beginners in appreciating modern music.
The emphasis was on popular children cartoon theme songs! It was easy for us to relate to plus everyone knew the lyrics by heart. Yesterday's was taken from Ben 10.
There were a wide variety of books on sale for all levels. I tried to recall my basics from Kindy last year. 2 black keys, 3 black keys. Need to spend more time on my keyboard!

Must Visit!

To fly a plane ... Kidzania!

Toddling @ The National Library

Today I embarked on a potential life changing trip! Where did this take place? It was my first visit to a library moreover the pride of the country ... The National Library.
Daddy doesn't read as much as he preaches but he did say he spent a good amount of his childhood making regular trips to the library. Now how legitimate the story is? one would never know. Why do I have doubts? cause it was his first time to this facility too. :-p
It was 10 in the morning and the first 2 levels at the multistorey parking was very empty. Maybe readers throng in later in the day for it was a Sunday.
I forgot to bring the MyKid, so I have to register another day and rode along daddy's registration so that I could borrow some books today.
We spent the whole day at the children section and I must say it was overwhelming! Mountains of books across all titles. I even found a rare copy of Peppa Pig activity book.
Made a friend along the way. We both were so excited exploring books, we never really exchanged greetings or got each others name. Hopefully I'll bump into her again since I will certainly be making return trips as I've borrowed 3 books under daddy's name.
Now this was right across the road from the library. It may be a public parking area with visiting cows over the weekend cause no way anyone's gonna pay 5 ringgit to view them.

Gardening ... Once Again!

I was an avid gardener. Always hot on daddy's trail whenever he goes about doing the digging, planting, watering and trimming. Off late he fell of the radar and so did I.
We get loads of wild scrubs and very pretty looking flowers blossoming all over. They get to stay on until Mr. Lawn mover man comes visiting. Life does find a way!
Grandpa got me some packets of seed to plant, hoping for me to spend more time outdoors. In a Styrofoam box, I've planted chillies, corianders and some curry leaves. So far they are looking very promising and I've made a promise to myself to tend to them regularly.
And then there is some very unique looking ones that neither daddy nor myself are able to identify. It was given to us by a family friend who's got a penchant for bonsais.
Anyone know what plant this is?

My Upcoming Music Classes

Daddy's an odd piece of work! Odd for not supporting an aspect of his own industry. Daddy works in the IT field but has always given the cold shoulder to online transactions.
Sunwave Music had a very tempting offer going for sale on Groupon but the man was persistent on not making the purchase despite a great deal of savings.

He kept asking me if I really wanted to try this program secretly hoping I"ll loose my interest. Well I'm his blood so the hard head sits on my shoulder too.

Finally he gave in and made the purchase just in time before the deal expired. Well I certainly won't be a musical genius in 8 classes but it'll keep my interest alive!

Reshaped!

Before and After ... Sindhu Style!

Rasa Valli Kilanghu Pudding

Rasa Valli kilangu pudding, the violet colour Yam, is a popular sweet dish from Sri-Lanka. The Yam is hard to come by here but Grandpa manage to get a piece for breakfast. It was my first try at this much loved, sought after dish. Love the colour just as much as the taste.
It's a relatively simple to make dish and can be preserved for one day in room temperature. Here's the recipe for an attempt to great  flavour. More Recipes
  • 1/2 Kg Rasa Valli Kilangu.
  • 250 Grams Sugar.
  • 2 pieces of Pandan Leaf
  • 1 Cup Coconut milk (Can be replaced by condensed milk or Evaporated Milk)
  1.  Wash and lean the skin of the kilangu.
  2. Cut it in to tiny pieces.
  3. Put it in a pot and add water to cover it.
  4. Boil it slowly till the Kilangu becomes soft.
  5. Add milk, sugar and Pandan Leaf and stir well.
  6. After one time boiling make it as a paste with a hard spoon.

April Fools' Day

April 1st is celebrated as April Fools' Day, sometimes referred to as All Fool's Day. It's celebrated as a day when people play all kinds of jokes on people.
The visual above was inspired by the blockbuster 3 Idiots which spurned it's Tamil version staring my favourite movie star Vijay. Here's part from that movie.
The scene where our protagonist is dragged to class by the college principal asking him to teach engineering was turned into a well intended thought provoking joke.

I reenacted that scene on daddy and had a good laugh with him falling for it. Watch out for that scene from 9:00 till 15:00 minute. A must watch movie.
