Deepavali - 2 Days to Go!

Sweets and cookies are a must during Deepavali. Celebrating the triumph of good over evil always has to be celebrated with great savories.
Bargains galore with a variety of selections that are readily available. They are always a hit as general population would rather purchase instead of preparing.
At home, Grandma makes it a point to prepare as much as she can. As I get older, it gives me an excellent opportunity to get involve and learn from the best.
These lovely brown chocolate like balls are actually spicy!
It was a tiring but well worth the time and effort!
Fireworks! Going mild this year.

Deepavali - 3 Days to Go!

With impending expenses on school pretty soon, daddy spoke to me about going low key on the spending. Didn't splurge as much as he would, though in a small way he did!
Lovely ones from daddy, aunty and a family friend.
I would have loved to be in one of these. I would literally get the bells ringing walking into the temple for Deepavali morning prayers.
With primary studies coming up, daddy and I got busy looking for a proper study table. These were at Courts and we're still looking around before deciding.
Here's a nice one with it's own matching shelf.
The chair was a bargain, so we decided to get that first.
The play area was pretty cool ...which also happened to be equipped with iPads!

Deepavali - 4 Days to Go!

What's Deepavali if there isn't any decorations.
All kinds of decorative items goes on sale and these lovely cutouts creates the mood and brings the glamour and glow to any celebration.
They are as crucial as these pretty bangles would be on my wrists.
The ruling party sends it's greetings.
We've got the twinkle lights up!
And a lovely paste on 'kolam', contributed by Aunty.

Deepavali - 5 Days to Go!

Toughest part about festivities is the cleaning work. Not that we don't do it regularly but normally folks tend to use this as a reason for massive cleanings.
I got involved in the process for the first time and believe me, it's no easy feat!
With a small frame, I could easily get into corners making me indispensable.
Curtains are up!
Looks very nice when it matches the sofa.

Deepavali - 6 Days to Go!

Key hotspots had all the shop lots up and running for nearly a month now.
The busiest of them would easily be Masjid india, downtown KL and not forgetting the Deepavali carnival in Bukit Jalil which has been drawing many shoppers.
Price war was everywhere with rates dropping as we get closer.
New decorative items are introduced every year without fail.
My classmate Chen Hui turned 6 and I made some time early this evening to join her at her birthday bash. All my buddies from school were there.
Today also happens to be another important birthday! Have a blast Uncle!!

Deepavali - 7 Days to Go!

Time certainly flies ... one after another in a blink of an eye and we're at the end of October. Exactly 7 days to Satya's 2013 'Rocker Valli'!!
Earlier this afternoon, I got busy helping Grandma with her famous ghee biscuits.
Later in the evening, the event took a rather unique turn. For the first time, I'm starting the countdown to Deepavali with some Italian flavour.
Juicy Grilled Chicken served with fries and salad.
Seafood Lasagna.
Complementing them, Tiramisu. Off to a magnificent start.

41st IVU World Vegfest 2013

For the record, I was not part of any global conference but supported the grand food fest that was held yesterday at the Titiwangsa Lake Gardens.
The event was massive!
Many popular restaurants, outlets and organizations that champion the idea of leading a healthy lifestyle by enjoying vegetarian meals were there.
A very effective coupon system made shopping easy and there were designated spots to rest while we enjoy our purchase.
It's hard for me to decide if I'm ready to embrace the change ...
The Vegetarian Lasagna might just tempt me .... Hhhmm.

My Best Friend turned 6!

My best friend at school, Lavysha turned 6 last weekend and I was invited to attend her birthday party. Daddy and I joined all her family members and cousins in celebrating the grand occasion with lots of fun games and dance!
I was really honoured to be present at the party simply because everyone instantly knew who I was which means my buddy spoke alot about me at home.
We played musical chair ... well stool actually and had loads to eat.
The highlight of the day was when Lavysha cut her birthday cake.
Yet again she made sure I got the first bite, imagine that! I was really touched.
My turn next ...

I stayed on right till the end and as I left, she made sure I had lots of chocolates and sweets to take back with me. Lavysha ... A Very happy 6th Birthday to you my Best Friend!

Grandma Birthday Outing

Grandma's birthday bash continued with a small family lunch at Malabar Palace, Hartamas Shopping Center. Uncle and Aunty joined us too.
Kerala dishes that left a lasting impression on me.
