My recent fight with cough and cold could have been due to my long hair. I tend to sweat quite a bit which could have lead to a damp scalp that caught the bug.
A hair cut was necessary so I went to one of the Hair Studios in Kepong and what attracted me to this place is the lovely hairdo they had advertised outside their premises.
Half the gang came with me to witness my first experience in a hair salon. The hidden reason was that I can't sit still for a very long time so I guess the muscle power was needed to pin me down to the chair till my hair was done.
They were going on and on about not having to worry cause it's just a hair cut ... hello, I'm 1 and a half years old, I guess I can handle it.
The stylist got straight down to work and it was all done in 10 minutes. She just trimmed the lengthy ones and left a few to curl around my ears. It was pretty trendy and I'm sure she knows what's best for my looks.
With the side parting, I looked more like a boy.

Toddling @ Melaka
Familiar Shot? Yep, We're back on the road and it's Melaka again. This time around we're heading straight to town to spend Christmas there. Reservation made for a night at the Garden City apartment for a 2 bedroom executive suite.
We stopped at the Shalala (nothing to shalala about) coffee house by the North South Highway for my breakfast. The place was empty. We thought it could have been for the price or bad food so we just settled for coffee and I had my cereal which was packed from home.
All the patrons at this R&R opted to have their meals at the local food outlet next door so no one drops by here ... no wonder they won hands down for the cleanest outlet. We went in because of that ... it was spotless.
We took a diversion from our original course into Seremban Town for a quick tour. The weather looked a little gloomy so we thought off just driving around town. Grandpa suggested to visit the famous Seremban temple while we were there.
It was the Bala Thandayuthapani Temple which is located right next to Seremban Parade. It's definitely the most beautiful temple I have visited. Right from the built, landscaping, office arrangement they are very organized.
As we were leaving, I noticed this sign at the entrance which translates to "Why fear when I'm here". This assured us a safe journey throughout.
We reached Melaka just about noon and Grand Uncle's family was already waiting at the toll collection area, so we joined and both cars drove together into town. If you take a closer look at the picture above, they are in the CRV. Both my Uncles were also joining us.
Tired from all the driving, we decided to stop for lunch at the Sri Laksmi Villas Restaurant. This place has been around for almost 50 years. The owner was kind enough to explain the history behind the place while we savoured the fantastic banana leaf meal.
After the meal, we checked into our respective hotels. Grand Uncle was at Equatorial as he made prior reservations and we couldn't get a room there. I needed the space to run around hence the apartment.
After a quick afternoon nap and freshen up with a shower, we got out again, both groups met at a nearby stall selling the best 'kuay teow' noodles in Melaka. True enough, this guy had orders coming in non-stop.
We ordered the Ice Kacang Papuk which is a Melaka speciality dessert. Daddy didn't agree on the authenticity as he claims it tastes just like any Ice Kacang found in KL.
The debate went on and all througout 'kuay teow' uncle was dishing out plate after plate. He's a machine. Grandpa was mesmerized at the man's cooking skills.
After the heavy evening fill-up, we needed to walk around to burn off those calories so we dropped by Melaka's most famous landmark, The Stadthuys. It was the official residence of the Dutch Governor. It's now the historic museum. This is a picture of the Christ Church built in 1753!
There were lots of stalls selling all kinds of handicrafts and not forgetting the trishaws, I had a fun 20 mins ride on one of them. Each one of them had Hindi songs playing while they ferried their customers. Must have been due to the recent visit by the Bollywood heart throb Shah Rukh Khan.
This was taken in one of the largest temples in Melaka. The statue you see here is of Hanuman. He is one of the most important personalities in the Hindu epic, the Ramayana. His most famous feat, as described in the scriptures, was leading a monkey army to fight the demon King Ravana. My height was only up to his anklet!
We dropped by the Equatorial Hotel to checkout the Christmas Deco there and as always, me being camera shy made a dash for it.
This was made entirely from cakes and chocolates. If it wasn't for daddy, I would have sunk my teeth in them.
For dinner we made our way to the Newton Food Court.
It was a really huge place with so much to choose from.
The highlight of this trip was the viewing of the Christmas decorations at the Portuguese Settlement. I was down with mild fever so Grand Uncle led the group for the walk through without me *sigh*.
The next day, I was up early and still recovering from the fever I needed to get some fresh air. We drove down to the 'Eye on Malaysia'. Didn't get a chance to ride it while it was in KL so we didn't wanna miss it in Melaka either.
The ride was cheaper here and the view was fantastic. It was starting to drizzle so we had just enough time to head back to the apartment to pack before check-out.
While driving out of town, I spotted this. It's a classic bread vendor mobile. Unlike the motorcycles used in KL, here it was still on bicycle. It must be challenging cycling through the crowded Melaka streets with such heavy load.
We stopped for a late lunch at the Ayer Keroh overhead bridge restaurant for the All American Food.
All in it was a very exciting holiday with both the families having so much fun. Hopefully next year I can have a holiday that requires me to fly.

Toddling @ The Curve
It is Boxing Day today, but it's never too late ... Merry Christmas everyone!
Last Sunday was my mall visit on the subject of Christmas Deco Coverage. This time it was at The Curve. They have always been the front runners when it comes to decorations and they surely didn't disappoint the visitors.
The theme was fairies and green animal sculptures in a garden setting. It was very unique idea and something out of the ordinary.
Daddy tried his best to take some good shots but I rather be up there on the ladder with the red fairy. The view would have been fantastic.
This is a 40 foot Christmas tree and a gigantic giraffe right next to it. Some of the smaller trees around rotates.
We stopped at The coffee Bean for our evening Tea Break ... well none of us had tea though. The coffee was good, I had a little sip from daddy's cup.
This was the view of the Christmas garden from the first floor. Lots of hard work went into the making of this masterpiece.
For the last minute shoppers, They had lots of wonderful gifts and from this selection, if you notice there's a stuffed plush soft toy shaped like a rock with the words 'Santa Rocks' on it. Not exactly an interesting toy to be given as a gift.
This is a cool one, it looks as if a kid is lying down under the tree but it's only a soft toy. An interesting addition to your tree.
We had an early dinner at the Rojak-Rojak restaurant. They served local dishes and the prices were very reasonable.
I tried the noodles and loved it very much, I was not allowed to have too much as it will disrupt my feeding schedule.

Toddling @ The Waterfront
There's this new housing development which is about 5 minutes (by car) from where I live called The Desapark City. Houses here range from 800k up to 1.5mil. For the money you invest, it's quite a decent place to live in with modern amenities.
The hangout for the residents here is known as The Waterfront. It's got a supermarket, bank, restaurants, hardware store even boutiques for kids right up to adults.
It's so exclusive, they have their own mini Jusco.
with little buggies for kids to ride in. I never throw tantrums when I'm seated in it as it's quite a joy ride unlike your regular shopping trolley.
There's also a huge park for kids to play in and not too far away an olympic sized soccer field for the uncles to play in. That evening we all saw perfect weather to walk about and some families came equipped with kites.
To me the main attraction has to be the children's playground. The setup was a futuristic recreation facility like no other. Made out of steel and rubber coating at specific joints to avoid us childrens getting hurt, this is certainly not your regular play area.
We stopped for some bread and coffee at the Kluang Station Kopitiam. Very thick and strong mixture. Check them out ... http://kluangstation.com/
And their Christmas decoration ... spectacular!

Toddling @ Ikano
After my appointment at the doctor's for which I had to take 2 shots on both my tights, we headed down to Ikano to get the pain off my mind.
Like any other shopping Mall, Ikano was heavily decorated and all geared up for Christmas. They had my favorite friends there promoting the festivity.
Another drawback about Christmas here in Malaysia is that it doesn't snow here. The very essence of the celebration is having the tree covered in Snow and everyone sitting in front of the fireplace opening their presents.
Well we have to make do with the fake ones. Cotton for the tree and styrofoam pieces for falling snow.

Toddling @ Times Square
You get this tingling feeling when you visit shopping complexes this time of the year. The competition intensifies racing for the most decorated. They'll have the largest tree with unique ornaments, Santa's workshop, elves, snow (styrofoam) and even Santa himself.
At Berjaya Times Square they had the foyer decorated with little shops selling children's toys, cookies & cakes, clothing and Christmas ornaments. There was a choir group performing on stage too. It was mesmerizing.
Highlight of the day was when Santa and Mrs. Claus made their way on stage. I was 3rd in line to receive a present from him and Mrs. Claus hoisted me up in the air when my turn came. All the kids got lollipop's and chocolates.
I must say, he is closest to the real one, with his belly, speech and wonderful dressing. I have never came in close contact with Santa but this guy is bursting with that warmth feeling.
Some of the trees are so heavily decorated, you'd have to search through the ribbons and lights to actually see the tree.
This one had angels in lovely dresses the size of my arm hanging on them.
The main tree at the entrance had rain deers attached to it depicting flight around the tree. Excellent setup.
