This was a poorly organized book fair. The organizers should have dropped the word 'International' as renowned publishers were missing not to mention some world class books.
Majority of the books were local publications of school revision genre. Daddy was so frustrated as he came equipped with a list of must have books. That was just half the problem.
Sales Representatives from Grolier Asia were pouncing on any parent seen with kids. They were at every corner and behaved no different from a credit card promoter....Sigh..

Hot Air Balloon Experience!
It was the 2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. The take off site was at Precinct 2 and like any huge event, the crowd was massive.
Most kids my age would be taken aback by the colourful ones infront then wanting to get on the large ones behind. And I did get one .... A Doraemon.
It was a pleasant Sunday as the weather was cloudy throughout the morning and people were seen shopping at the various stalls and enjoying local delicacies.
This is the closest I got to a real helicopter. Daddy tried all that he could to get us the 7 minutes flight around Putrajaya but the wait list was few pages too long. There were more people lining up for the RM120 per person ride compared to the RM10 hot air balloon ride!
At least I managed to get some good fun. Fantastic bird's eye view of Putrajaya.

Disney On Ice
Being the only child has got it's perks as all the attention will be on me. One of it is a monthly birthday celebration!
On every 13th, we cut cake, buy toys or go out for dinner. Last Saturday Grandpa got tickets to the Disney on Ice Adventure at the Putra indoor stadium.
I always wanted to meet Mickey and the gang in person and this was the perfect opportunity. As I walked towards the Upper Tier, the wish became a far cry from what was planned... :-(
I needed a binoculars to enjoy the show. At least the angle was good for photo shooting. It was pretty empty given 30 mins before showtime. Malaysians are known to make it right on time.
Merchandise was available all along the corridor and people were seen buying like it was on cheap sale. A Minnie Mouse figurine palm size (not mine, daddy's) was going for RM40.
Ice Cones in designer Incredibles mug was selling at RM 50. The cheapest thing there was the colouring book for RM15.
I was happy enough to watch the show. Knowing daddy he'd go bonkers if I threw tantrums in public. He knew of my capabilities so we went for a win-win situation and settled for the colouring book and a Mickey light saber from one of the peddlers outside.
The show was about Mickey and the gang planning to hold a float and in the midst of the dancing and singing, Maleficent the wicked dark fairy from Sleeping Beauty turns up and casts a spell on Minnie and Donald. Mickey and the gang goes to the rescue.
Who else to save the day but for the family of superheroes, The Incredibles. Pow Wow and the good guys won. Here's a video of the grand finale.
All in a fantastic evening minus the distance from the ice rink.
