The Annual IBM Family Day was held this morning at the National Zoo in Hulu Kelang, Ampang. This zoo has been around for 48 years and daddy was telling me about the trips he made in his younger days. The place has been through it's share of ups and downs.
It was an early affair with breakfast and lots of activities. This year the organizers decided on Treasure hunt and colouring competition on top of the usual IBM telematch.
We opted out of the games to spend more time enjoying the lovely walk around the zoo. Having experienced the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia and the Singapore Zoo, I really wasn't expecting much. Not meant to look down at my own country's zoo but honestly they can improve themselves in many ways. Learning some finer points from the above 2 award winning zoo's can easily make us world class.
The fearsome champions were all seen dozing away while the tame fellows roamed freely. Was hoping to catch some of them in ferocious action.
This one wasn't sleeping and was super alert in such calm and still manner. I could learn a thing or 2 to be used at school during lessons.
We made the 11am animal show at the amphitheater and it was a feast for the eyes with some very talented animals showcasing their skills. Hats of to the trainers.
This sea lion can slam dunk! Pretty impressive considering it was done using it's nose.
The family day also had it's share of tensed moments especially when they took a good 30 seconds to call out a 4 digit number with long pauses in between. Didn't win any, maybe next year. Good unwinding fun.
