Road closed, exorbitant parking fee for a road side spot and the massive crowd, Thaipusam to be rejoiced! And it would be nice if people read signs ...
Crowd aside, heaps of broken coconuts made a little mole hill at the main gate. The presence of rubbish never stops every on year. Let my generation be the change.
I enjoyed the bird's eye view minus the cramping crowd. Poor daddy had to carry me all throughout for at my height, I'm sure to disappear in this gathering.
Lord Muruga sat majestically on his peacock (kinda like how I located myself on daddy's shoulders) blessing all his devotees. Made an 'archanai' for myself.
He arrived yesterday afternoon around 2pm from the Mariamman Temple in down town KL in his shinning silver chariot. Large crowd gathered to snap photos of it.
The carnival feel stretched all along the highway right up to the Gates
leading to the Caves. Everyone capitalized on this once a year event for
good business.
Fun fair, Balloons, toys ... missing a clown or 2.
I failed to qualify on the minimum height requirement for the big ones so had to happily settle for the small 'human push' powered carousel yet again.
We enjoyed all the sweets sold by our Singh Brothers and had a feast buying all kinds of vegetarian food on top of all the free food/drinks kind hearted folks were giving out.
Great celebration, tiring though. Catching all the rest I can for it's back to school tomorrow.
Happy Thaipusam Everyone!
