Too much for a 5 year old?

In conjunction with the independence celebration today, I got my own little freedom. Too much for a 5 year old? Nah!! not when our government is contemplating in allowing it for school.

The theme chosen for this year's independence day celebration is 'Janji Ditepati'. Daddy says he senses an ulterior motive behind this, well I couldn't care less.

School Holiday Project #4

The highlight during this holiday was the 3 days camp at the Kids Gym in Kuchai Avenue, Kuchai Entreprenuers Park. Daddy enrolled me to join the program held for the kids of this school as they sold seats over Groupon.

It was a 3 half day programme with the first 2 days focusing on indoor activities that encompassed story telling, group discussion, art & craft, Clay and Lego activity with lots of musical interludes.

The whole programme and it's interactive activities was built around animal discovery as the main theme.

The amount of shoes gives a good indication of how popular this programme was.

The teachers were all foreigners and as it was the first time participating in a lesson / activity led by them, it was a new experience for me as they bring a different approach to handling kids.

 

On the 3rd and final day, we were all taken to the National Zoo as a round-up to our theme of the programme to experience seeing live animals.

To be honest I wasn't super excited as I've seen 2 of the best zoo's in the world but not to undermine my own country, we certainly have a long way to world standards.

I was really excited only because I made lots of new friends and a special mention to Solis - my buddy, whom you can see from the 2nd photo above who is sitting next to me in a Ben 10 sweat shirt.

The other exciting factor was that daddy could also tag along and the management was very giving in allowing parents to come on their own expense.

We never really 'walked' to view the animals but instead was ferried around, super speed, in the Zoo tram. The rush was to make the 11am animal show.

The sea lion show was entertaining and my new friends and I enjoyed every bit of it despite sitting in scorching afternoon sun.

I took the courage to volunteer in one of the acts where I held up a note for the bird to fly down and sit on my hand and take it with it's beak. It was a well spent 10 ringgit that goes into the collection for the wildlife preservation.

We ended the programme at McDonalds and i parted ways with my friends as I continued my journey back with daddy and they headed back to school in the chartered bus.

What a holiday this has been ...

School Holiday Project #3

The Empire Shopping Gallery in Subang Jaya was a new discovery for me. I remember dropping in a few years back but could hardly remember the details.

At the Plaster Fun House, you get to pick the prepared design that you want to work on and opt to colour them at their premises. I took the wall mount butterfly and immediately got to work.

The final work was so realistic that daddy tried to chase it away with a fly swatter. Good that he came to his senses and the piece continue to adorn majestically on the dining hall wall.

The other must try is LeX Slide which is touted to be the tallest indoor tube slide ... in the World! I just barely made the 110 cm minimum height requirement.

Despite the initial apprehension, inquisitiveness got the better of me and I was standing in line for my turn.

with 2nd thoughts, I got in and made my way down!

At the landing strip ... it turned out to be the best 10 seconds I had for which I immediately went up again for my 2nd attempt. ;-)

School Holiday Project #2

Turning 5 is slowly making me loose interest in toys. Well not entirely but moving into a bigger playing field as close as it gets to the real thing.

Well today, it was straight to reality.

Using daddy's mini saute pan I decided to try my hand with an actual dish. Sauteed some vegtables, adding a cup of water to bring it to boil. Added some seasoning to taste, chives and friend onions for garnishing.

I made a nice bowl of soup.

Then a little fun time on a long sheet of air bubble wrap. The loud explosions created the festive feel for this Raya celebration. Have a good one folks!

Toddling @ KLCC Park

My regular fortnightly visit to the National Library took a mini diversion for some fun in the sun at the KLCC park.

With the fine weather, there were so many people enjoying the day playing in the playground and getting their feet wet in the huge wading pool.

The swinging was at such dizzying heights, I was laughing all way creating sound effect that goes low tone and grows louder with every trip back and forth.

The mini waterfall was such a lovely experience when you walk under with a spray of the water constantly hitting you was such a nice feeling under the afternoon sun.

Tried creating a photo effect of me adjusting the Suria KLCC logo, turned out not too bad since these were taken from daddy's mobile phone.

Gotta love Anne Hathaway for her portrayal of the catwoman was simply Awesome! Daddy shed a tear when the movie ended. From his own words ... Down in history as the best trilogy ever.

Another Year Older .... 5 on 13/7

A much delayed post and for that my apologies. Turning 5 was yet another milestone but what made it exceptionally tough was the immediate changes that took place.

For one, I've been enrolled for tuition classes! Good Lord, for a 5 year old? Is this necessary? A debate ensued with daddy revealing the idea wasn't really about the grades but more to get time allocated purely for studies and making that a habit.

We'll come to that a little later but here's some insight details on how my 5th birthday went about.

It started massive, with a custom made cake to my design for the celebration at school. It was so big it needed the whole front seat ... well at least the box.

The cake was the eye candy along with the birthday girl. My friends went hysterical just looking at the box and the unpacking released a synchronized 'oohh & Wahh'.

They all sang for me and with the merger along with the 6 year olds, the celebration was bigger. My friends all lined up to hug and wish me individually as I handed out the small token of appreciation I made for them.

The design is no secret, it's a broken barbie doll recycled creating the top half of the gown chocolate cake decorated with M&Ms and the envy of all my friends.

Lunch was at the Mushroom Cuisine Organic restaurant in Metro Perdana (http://www.facebook.com/MushroomCuisine). Since it was a Friday, we decided on an all vegetarian affair.

The evening was basically prayers at my favourite temple.

The next day another celebration ensued with another brilliantly designed cake with my idol, Izzy from Jake and the neverland pirates.

I had a blast and you could see a partially hidden bicycle. Well need I say more the reason behind the million dollar smile.

Dinner was a simple variety of chinese cuisines takeaway.

Izzy wasn't easy if she was hand drawn so the baker had it printed on this thin edible sugar sheet. I must say, King's bakery did a fabulous job on both the cakes.
