First Day @ Year 2, Beaconhouse Sri Inai

Ahh, what a feeling! To be back in school is something I've been looking forward to in the last few days. Honestly it got a little bored staying at home.
The teachers were busy getting ready and most of my friends from Year 1 returned and after reviewing the class allocation notice ...
I'm in Year 2 Rembrandt. From Wikipedia - Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn was a Dutch painter and etcher. He is generally considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European art and the most important in Dutch history.
There's 25 of us in the class with a few new friends to make.
Ms.Dusshan is our class teacher and lesson proper kicks off tomorrow. In a class named after a painter, I've signed up for art & craft under the CCA.

Getting ready for School

1 week additional holiday just flew by but it wasn't fun at all. Many relatives of my friends were troubled by the flood and hope they have all returned safe preparing themselves for the new school year starting 12th January.
Books, Bag, uniform all set. I've been flipping through the books and getting myself familiar with the contents. Can't wait to get started!

2014 Year End Holiday Activity #3 - Pantai Indah Seaview

This was a short trip before New Year. The Pantai Indah Seaview Resort was about 25km from Kuala Selangor and time was pretty much spent driving around.
Did a little prawn catching nearby a commercial fishing pond.
Enjoying fantastic seafood fare for dinner.

2014 Year End Holiday Activity #2 - Lexis, Port Dickson

One of the biggest highlight last year was when my cousin sister's family came down from Johannesburg, South Africa for holiday in KL.
We had loads of fun but the best was our 3 days holiday at the fancy Lexis Port Dickson resort. The chalets are on water equipped with viewing glass panels.
We tried lots of things, Segway ride.
Wii Games.
Archery.
Clowning around and making the best of the trip. Baby Sailesh was just as excited and trilled with his first external trip with us.
Mostly we just lazed around and relaxed. Spending loads of sista time sharing stories and listening of musics. Come visit us again Rakshita!

2014 Year End Holiday Activities

December holidays are always a time to look out for simply because it's when we students really unwind after a whirlwind of a year submerged in books.
There was loads of food, in particular, Spaghetti Grill. Their fried chicken strips is awesome to say the least. But the highlight was the sumptuous Pizza.
Since it was Christmas, I bumped into lots of Santa Claus.
Here's Santa with Santarina.
This one not only looks like the real one (well atleast that's how we've been made to believe), he sings too and his voice is fantastic!
My personal favourite was Uncle KT. Not only I know him personally, his gifts were awesome and we had a blast mingling and interacting with his alter ego.
It was a pot luck party hence daddy prepared Italian seasoned linguini served with a choice of spicy peppers and tomato sauce or mushroom and herb sauce.
Worked on my own personalized T-shirt.
Attended a 5 days holiday camp @ Kiddo Science where 3 days was spend on science of Magic and the last 2 days on desert making. The masterpiece above is 3 of my workmanship using edible items.
2 Days of sensory development and brain training @ Genius Mind Academy. Sounds pretty heavy but it's great exercise to help students focus better.

A fruitful holiday indeed!

Grandpa turned 70!

Last month we celebrated Grandpa's 70th Birthday with a huge surprise party at the Gem Restaurant in Petaling Jaya. Rocking 70 was the theme of the day.
It was a month long plan with everything going flawlessly as Grandpa had no clue what was in store for him including Grandma thinking it was going to be a normal day out.
All our close relatives and friends were invited and grandpa's close friends also joined to wish him well. The whole ground floor was booked for our event.
Cake cutting, a video presentation of Grandpa from his younger days, my song rendition specially for him and great food made the night super special.

Happy Rocking 70th Grandpa!

Happy New Year 2015!

Starting the year with loads of presents! Thank You Aunty Caroline for the gifts.
2014 has been a very challenging year for me. Starting Junior school and enjoying every bit of it was fun coupled with a fair share of intensity but I emerged unscathed.
I am looking forward to a great 2015 with my head held high looking forward with great hope and ambition. My empathy to the flood victims and deepest sorrow to the families going thru the airlines tragedy. School begins a week late on the 12th.
Last night's fireworks display in Desapark city seen from Sailesh's home.

Happy Karthigai!

Yesterday, all the Hindu homes were brightly lit with lamps to signify the Karthigai celebration. Just like past year, we had a lovely line up.
New lamps were bought and prepared.
Uncle got us these unique ones. The material was also much stronger.
Brilliantly arranged with Grandpa's help.
Happy Karthigai everyone!

Preview @ Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort

Thanks to Aunty Gin, we got an opportunity to preview the lovely Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort. This is the cool resort that has water chalets shaped like the palm tree inspired by the Palm Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali, on the coast of Dubai.
Sepang is a very relaxed town. Movement was minimal on a Sunday morning and everyone seems to be going about doing their thing.
We had lunch at the Seri Bayu Resort which was close by to Avani. The view of all the water chalets were pretty awesome from here. Kampung Fried Rice!
Malaysia's favourite, Nasi Lemak.
My favourite, Fish and chips.
As we drove into Avani, this huge signage gave us a warm feeling and parking, though looked troublesome but was easy once you know the location.
The place was huge and offered lots of activities. We were led to the preview area and got a glimpse of their restaurants.
The time share preview was for their vacation club and the offer was pretty enticing.
I enjoyed the buggy tour around the place and though we didn't sign up for the package, the folks were kind enough to extend a night's free stay.

Sindhu and the Grasshopper

Final Semester Academic Progress

Daddy made a deal with me that if I either increased or retained my academic results, I can continue to be in Beaconhouse but I knew he meant it to mask the fact that the increase in fee is going to hit him bad and nothing had to do results.
On the results front, I made the mark!My performance was on par with the first semester and I was mighty pleased with it. Improvements came on my writing, comprehension and overall conduct which left a great impression with my teachers.
They were all in praise of my leadership as the class monitor and my involvement in all the activities throughout the year. Daddy was mighty proud!
I am all elated and on cloud nine. Year end holidays are here and the first thing I did was to get my nails painted.

Beaconhouse Children's Day Celebration

I went as the pink fairy.
Spidey took the day off

Private & International School Fair

Yesterday I made my way to Mid Valley Megamall specifically for this fair though the idea of shopping was pretty tempting, we refrained from it.
Both wings of the exhibition center was allocated for this event and major schools and institutions were all there showcasing their offers.
Among them were training and skill development centers. One particular center, happens to be in Kepong measured my brain waves and reported I have a good balance of both my left and right brain but needed fine tuning focus, attention and stress management! Me ... Stressed?
The science experiments were pretty cool.
My former play school, Gymboree were there and I couldn't help but take a snap with their adorable mascot, Gymbo the clown.
Dropped in to say hello to my school heads and received heaps of praises for being a great student but wondered why was I here, scouting new school??

I have to prove myself if I want to continue here, part of a deal I striked with daddy.
