The saying "Thai Pirandhal Vazhi Pirakkum" meaning "the commencement of Thai paves the way for new opportunities"
is often quoted regarding the Pongal festival. The harvest festival is celebrated thanking the Sun God for a good harvest.
It is gaining so much mileage it has superseded Deepavali in popularity. It falls in the Thai month of the tamil calendar which is in January making many regard this the new Tamil New Year for it's also commonly seen that way in India in recent times. The celebration is mild this year with quality home time munching on goodies and of course a pot full of Pongal with loads of shows on Sun TV.
We decided on an In house Pongal yet again for the idea of simplicity weighted greater in comparison which definitely wielded the same 'spill over'.
For obvious reasons, the simplicity was a step further with available instant options.
