Toddling @ Kuantan, RT Trip 2014

Traveling by bus is always fun, moreover with regular friends and family with a packed agenda on gaining new experiences is always something I look forward to.
The annual Rukun Tetangga trip is back and last Saturday we made our way to the east coast of the Peninsula, Kuantan City!
The first stop was at a lovely town, 80km northeast to KL City ... Bentong. We decided to stop here for breakfast as we left pretty early in the morning.
Our regular tour guide on all our trips insisted we tried the 'Dim Sum' and boy was he right, it was very fresh and tasting quite different from home.
After that we hit the road to our first destination, The Lao Zi Temple. Located in Sungai Lembing, it houses a 2700 ft long Golden Dragon. It's said to be the longest man made dragon in the world and one has to start from the dragon's tail to get to the temple.
The journey took a good 15 minutes of jay walking with the insides adorned with scriptures along the path and some lovely paintings accompanying them.
The journey ends when we emerge out of the Dragon's mouth. Further down, you need to touch the marble ball (where the 2 ladies are standing) and make a wish. It is believed that the mighty dragon grants your wish and many visitors stood by this too.
The shrine and lovely statues make up this beautiful temple and I couldn't resist making my presence felt by sounding this enormous bell.
We headed into Kuantan town for lunch at this restaurant.
Thoroughly enjoyed the splendid 8 course lunch!
We stopped along a trunk road to see this huge rock formation in a shape of a snake. Many were seen making offerings and seeking blessings by touching the snake's head. I was pretty sleepy from the heavy lunch hence couldn't tell where exactly this was.
About 5km out of Kuantan town, we hit Teluk Cempedak for some relaxation. I made it a point to take a stroll by the beach and got myself a lovely beach shorts.
In all our trips, there is always time for shopping and not to be left out, I contribute my share but filling the trolley with snacks, in particular, crispy seaweed!
A fraction of what we bought.
On the way back to KL, we made a stop at Bukit Tinggi to buy fresh vegetables and while we're at it, have our dinner too.
Took little bites from every dish as I was still stuffed from lunch. Timing was perfect on this trip and we made it back by 10pm which was a new record indeed.
