Genting Strawberry Farm

In conjunction with the mid year school break, we made a weekend trip to Genting Highlands. The regular holiday goers comprising my uncle's family and us wanted to take a tour of the savoury berry farm which is the star attraction at Gohtong Jaya Town.

The weather was fantastic with that mild chill making it perfect for a stroll in the farm.

They opened a few rows for visitors to pick their strawberries and we jumped into one anticipating a promising harvest from it.

At RM8 per 100 grams and a large basket, you can get carried away just as I did going on and on picking all the juicy looking ones. A farmhand will always be close behind ...

We left the place RM32 poorer but happy with what we got.

The walkway lead us into a long maze of shops selling all sorts of merchandise and food items featuring strawberries. T-Shirts, Bags, Jam and even strawberry coffee and tea.

The strawberry noodle was certainly the highlight of them all.

At the next turn we went into an organic mushroom farm and as we walked out their latest product was already on sale.

It was a very relaxing trip and all those strawberries we bought turned into muffins at home!!
