56 Years of Independence

The country is celebrating it's 56th year tomorrow and coming to think about it, I was born when she celebrated her Golden jubilee ... monumental!
It was a good opportunity to reflect on great things that happened leading to 56 years of freedom, though daddy always has a differing opinions about it.
I made it a point to visit all these buildings / symbols of great significance part of a school project which turned out to be at the right time.
Most people would say the the palace guard can get very tired doing this but he's just sitting ... I pity the horse that has to carry him and stand thru it's shift.

My Backyard BBQ

Chef and grilling star Bobby Flay is my favourite on Food Network. Highly inspired by him, I thought I'd have my own little outdoor BBQ.
Since it was my first attempt, I thought of going simple with some vegetarian chicken satay, hash potato and mini sausages. The tough part was to get the fire started.
After an hour getting the charcoal to the right heat, I started cooking.
It turned out pretty fine.


Thalaivaa

Thalaivaa (Leader) is Ilayathalapathy Vijay's offering this year. This action thriller film written and directed by A.L. Vijay brings out the best in actor Vijay's capability in portraying serious roles.
I couldn't help emulating his mannerism from a scene in the movie. 

A must watch for all Vijay Fans!

6 year old Immunisation

Dr. Vasantha's Clinic at the Damansara Specialist Hospital still looks the same and the toys brings back memories.

Sun, Sand and the Sea ... #2

This school holiday, a week together with the Hari Raya celebration was quite fruitful. I finished all the given school work within the first few days and enjoyed the rest.
After almost 4 years, I'm back to the beach and by sheer coincidence it turned out to be the same place I stayed back then.
The Corus Hotel Port Dickson must have under gone some refurbishment as the place looks very nice this time around.
I enjoyed a lovely stroll right after a nice cooling dip in the pool. It was such a relieve from the heat and with the cool slide in the kids pool, I had a blast.
Collected some lovely shells and played by the beach and had a wonderful time swimming in the open sea the next morning right after a sumptuous breakfast.
I'm getting a hang of the sea and would certainly make this a regular visit.

New Eats - Cheese Tart with Vanilla Ice-Cream

The sound of it could create an aversive reaction but believe me, the combination works and the taste is ... excellent!
