Happy Birthday Grandma

For Grandma's Birthday, we went on a low key affair as it was a working day plus she had her doctor's appointment which happened to be today.
After prayers, we tried out a new vegetarian restaurant in Segambut. It's not visible from the main road so some maneuvering around is required to find it.
I Love Veggie Steamboat felt nice and cosy inside.
Not a big fan of spicy stuff, I opted for the herbal soup. A mild selection was made to give it a try along with some items off the ala carte as well.
The choices we're aplenty!
It being vegetarian, you don't really get a generous amount of flavour since it's all soy based yet it proved otherwise with some really refreshing tastes.

Lantern Walkabout @ Taman Sri Bintang

Last Saturday Night, we received an invitation from the Taman Sri Bintang Rukun Tetangga committee to join them for their Mooncake festival celebration.
I decided to bring my own lantern to join in the fun. The guest were treated to a lovely meal and varieties of mooncakes to enjoy.
Everyone was then whisked away to the children's playground for the lantern walkabout. There was also lucky draw prizes given away and I must thank my lucky stars for I won a consolation prize.

On Demand Community - CSR Project

Last weekend I was roped in by daddy to help in a Corporate social responsibility project under taken over a half day kids activity camp.
It was such fun, I loved every minute of the interaction with the kids.
Looks like I have social service running in my blood.

Lantern Festival at Home

My grand aunt gave me a lovely lantern.
The design was beautiful and the candle light really brought the best of it.
Individual walk about within my home compound.

I made a Mooncake!

The red bean paste moon cake turned out pretty well.

Krista Lantern Festival

Last Wednesday, my Kindergarten hosted our very own Mid-Autumn Festival which is a popular harvest festival celebrated by the Chinese community.
We made our very own lantern which was later judged for best design. There were lots of food, all courtesy of all the parents bringing one dish each.
I brought in the sweet stuff and our new principal, Teacher Tammy was full of praise to all the involvement that both the kids and parents showed to make this a success.
The festival is held on the 15th day of the 8th month in the Chinese Calendar, during a full moon. We also had some games for both parents and kids.
The interesting one was the musical shoe game.
Me and my buddy Lavisha had a blast!

The theme was on Crime prevention and awareness. The children's were brought together for a colouring activity on how should an ideal neighbour / friend be.
While we were engrossed in this, the adults were given a talk and there was also showcase on items seized from criminals. We were all treated to light lunch right after.
