Nobel International School Carnival

Yesterday morning while driving by SS5 in PJ to get to Giant hypermarket, we bumped into this carnival taking place at the Nobel International School.
We've heard quite a bit about this school but never had a chance to visit the interior so this turned out to be a good opportunity.
The carnival saw loads of people and senior students were manning the booths which was like what we had in my school during our event early this year.
The prices of all the food on sale was very reasonable and tasted good too. There were a few offering premium products that costed a little more.
I was glued to the booth selling 2nd hand books and grabbed an interesting one for myself. They were all going for a mere 3 ringgit!
In any carnival, games is always the main attraction so I tried my hand at a few of them. This particular one didn't turn out pretty well ...
... but I did great at this, dropping 2 out of 3 ...
Winning myself a gift!

In Another City

Earlier today, I accompanied daddy to 2 back to back events that took place in the administrative capital of Malaysia ... The Putrajaya!
Sounds like a movie title and the place is befitting as sets for one. I have been here a number of times before and even stayed at the hill top Shangri-La but looking at some of the buildings closer gives you this feeling that you might just be in another country.
 Proud of it!

Fancy Kids Art Activity

This new art form may be the next big thing! from my experience at it, it could give sand art a run for it's money. A rubbery template transferred to a metal plate and you fill it with your desired colours completing the picture. It's more like melted rubber but I'm not exactly sure of the mixture.
The completed art will need to be baked. Yup, you heard me right! baked in the oven for a few minutes. The moment it came out it smelled like burned rubber.
The hot metal plate and the rubber will need to be cooled down before it can be transferred to a piece of cardboard to be taken back.
The end product was amazingly beautiful, sturdy and will last longer.

Rumah Juara Charity Bazaar

Yesterday, I had the privilege of supporting a noble event to help Rumah Juara, a home for underprivileged children, through this really cool charity bazaar.
It was held at the Glad Tidings auditorium in Petaling Jaya. There was lots and I mean lots of yummy food and games galore for the whole family.
They even had loads of cool things on sale, right from toys to household items.
Notable personalities also contributed their time in giving talks that benefited the attendees. I caught some tips on photography while munching on my food.
Here's where I spent most of my time ... at the play area. The first thing that caught my eye was the dunk station. It was such joy to see them dunk the poor guy but I really think he had all the fun!
I tried a hand ... well a leg to be exact, at a more familiar game. Though I did hit the target but it wasn't enough to gain points nevertheless I've certainly sharpened my shots tremendously.
This was the best I played! You need to navigate a ping pong ball through a series of obstacles using a water spray. Sounds easy but it was pretty hard.
This was the hardest! The wires kept bouncing about and it made it harder but I did get till the middle. Our donations in the form of purchased coupons goes to the home. I must thank Aunty Caroline for telling us about this event.

A small contribution in making a difference!

New Eats - Lemang

Paired it with satay sauce but I liked it plain.

Best Wishes Uncle!

Time really flies, I remember vaguely my uncle carrying me and playing board games with me ... well he still does but for the next 5 years, I'm gonna miss him.
Daddy and I decided to take him out for lunch to wish him the best before he leaves for university. The venue was Juro, Bandar Menjalara.
Well it was another western fare but knowing me, I insisted on it as it was going to be a memorable event. Juro didn't disappoint, starting with this lovely hot chocolate.
For starters we shared the Italian Caesar salad with roasted chicken.
Starter #2: Cream of Ham and Bacon Soup
For the main course, I enjoyed my Grilled Pork Belly marinated in Cajun Spices.
Just as daddy was settling the bill, the nice cashier offered me a cupcake. It was a lovely gesture and that alone is enough to entice me back to Juro!
We had good laughs and spoke at length on lots of things. My best wishes to Uncle Sarvesh on his educational journey abroad.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Peter Quill aka Star Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Groot and Rocket Raccoon, an unlikely band of misfits coming together to save the universe.
The movie is not your regular cinematic action adventure film but something that speaks alot about team work, sacrifice and of course a great deal of humor!
A good movie must go with great food - Cheesy macaroni with chicken enjoyed with caramel milk at Kenny Rogers Roasters.

Classmate's Birthday @ Jumpstreet Trampoline Park

Last Saturday I was invited to my classmate Tristan's 7th birthday party. He hosted it at the hot and happening Jumpstreet Trampoline Park in Petaling Jaya.
Although the location is clearly marked in Section 13, right next to Jaya One, just after Cold Storage and adjacent to the Bosch Building (the main entrance is behind the building), you need to get to it via the entrance to Bosch.
The place is huge! The main jumping arena alone covers over 9,000 square feet. With large ... I mean really large industrial fans, it feels pretty cool inside for a warehouse on a very hot and humid afternoon.
Tristan's mom got everything covered and as soon as we got there, we were given these special grip socks and wrist bands.
Since we were there for a special occasion, we had vests given and a dedicated 'Jump Referee' who guides us, taking us from one play area to the other.
Here's a video of me and my friends in action at the Dodge Ball arena.
This is me at the Foam Pit. Not bad for a beginner.
By the time we reached the top of the hour, we were so exhausted, some of us just wanted to fall flat and take a nice long sleep.
We headed to the party room where the event proper took place. Jumpstreet offers great party packages to choose from that covers everything.
Tristan beaming with joy surrounded by his buddies!
Thank you to Tristan and his family for organizing this 'kick@$$' party. It was so awesome that we continued to speak about it in school today.
To start jumping, head to their site for more info.

Another Western Fare

Being a lover of western meals, in particular fish and chips, I'm always on the look out for new places to try and savour my favourite dish prepared by different chefs.
Hotel Sani seems rather refreshing as their interior was spanking new and you could still get the fresh paint smell. A solid meal after the tiring Water Ball.
Starter #1: Stuffed Tofu
Starter #2: Cream chicken soup with garlic bread
Main Course #1: Chicken Rice
Main Course #2: Chicken Chop
Main Course #3: Fish and Chip (This was what I had and thoroughly enjoyed it)
An array of desserts: From bottom up - Bubur pulut hitam (traditional Malaysian fare), Balinese banana fritters, Banana fritters with cheese and Bread and butter pudding.

Water Ball @ Lake Titiwangsa

I've always had a soft spot for Lake Titiwangsa simply because it's close by to the National Library and at times we drop by before hitting the books.
This time around it wasn't the regular 'catching the cool lake breeze' or boat rides but to actually float in an inflated water ball!
Despite it being a Sunday, there were overwhelming crowd queuing up for their turn.
Getting in was tad bit tricky as the zipped entry was small. I could slide in relatively easy but poor daddy got stuck halfway thru.
I was not prepared to have a go all alone so daddy joined in and we had a blast pretending to be hamsters running in a ball. It was no easy feat but with the right balance, one can successfully do just that.
By the time we hit 10 minutes, it was getting pretty hot in it but there were some who just float by taking selfies. Interesting folks!
