The Year of the Rabbit !

Chinese New Year has been a major celebration for me simply because I live in a neighborhood vastly consisting of Chinese families. A month before and after, I'm accustomed to loud sounds of the fireworks and the drums for the Lion Dance which gets the festive mood going.
To share the joy with rest of the Malaysians, we headed down to MCA's open house this morning. It was crowded with an exceptional number of tourist. The year of the rabbit is already showing good signs.
To avoid being squished by the large turnout, we decided to have a bird's eye view from the floor above. We had a good look at the prime minister and other key invitees to the event. Sadly we missed the lion dance and had to settle for the little one which was impressive since it was performed by an Indian boy.
At every open house the buffet spread will be the main target. We decided not to go for it after looking at the long que but surprisingly it was in such orderly manner it made me think, Malaysian's are finally turning a new leaf.
Here's a video of the Lion dance performance taken at a different location. For now this is the closest I'll get to playing huge drums.

Gong Xi Fa Chai folks !
