My Shades!

Everyone in the family wears a pair of glasses ranging from short to long sighted. I'm the fortunate one not in the bandwagon.

I'm often threatened that I'll soon be wearing one if I continue to watch TV Shows 3 feet from our Hitachi. I can't help it, it looks attractive nearer. I love grabbing on to Daddy's glasses every time he carries me.

We were at the opticians to get a new pair of glasses for grandma. They had her eyes checked before prescribing the lenses to help her with her reading. I was busy browsing through the range of optical eyeglasses they had there.

My eyes caught the sunglasses. Fancy designer labels and obviously it was costly. In particular, the Guess eye wear. It was this pair ... Lovely.

Well, I'm certainly not getting one anytime soon. So I have to make do with My Shades for a while.

Daddy's Cruelty Exposed!

What I'm about to expose here is what Daddy did one evening when he got back from work. I was shocked and almost in tears seeing this hero of mine do such a thing.

I realized now that behind Daddy's culinary skills, he's had his 'Culling' Skills too! How silly of me thinking that the fish was about to be buried.

These were the tools of destruction used. I didn't realize we had such a huge knife at home. I wasn't brave enough to go out and witness daddy's brutality. All I could hear was loud chopping sounds.

Once he was done, this was the outcome. All mixed in turmeric powder and salt and left to marinate. I couldn't stand looking at it. Grandma had some kept away in the freezer and a few pieces to be fried.

It's protein rich flesh is good for us and I've been having them for some time now, all blend into my porridge.

It does taste good ... but then again there must be a better way to extract the flesh. The odd thing is ... this man was formerly a Vegetarian.

Smiley in the Sky!

We were one of the fortunate ones to have noticed this remarkable work of art in the evening sky. It took place a few nights ago when a rare alignment of Venus and Jupiter took place with the crescent moon directly below it.

This planetary conjunction was taken yet again with daddy's trusty SE C902 zoomed in. I think it's pretty decent for a camera phone.

Happy Birthday Grandpa & Aunty

December 3rd was Grandpa and Aunty's birthday. It's a double celebration every year but I was too little last year to realize this and have a piece of the fun.

Nevertheless this year I made it a point to celebrate in a moderately lavish style. Normally we hit the vegetarian restaurants since Grandpa is a full time vegetarian. This time around, with good research on the internet ... Thanks daddy for the hard work ... we found Izzi Lifestyle Restaurant. The branch we went to was in Bukit Bintang.

The attraction was advertisement on the left of the photo above. Yup, it was 75% off the bill for your meals. This excludes beverages and desert.

They were all geared up for Christmas and a nice little tree was put up at the entrance, the beautiful lights and ornaments caught my attention. I'm gonna go 'Shopping Mall Christmas Deco Preview' soon, but that'll be in another edition.

For starters we had the Izzi Dough Ball which is served with Garlic Butter and the Soup of the day which was Chicken Cream Soup. I loved the dough ball, it was very fluffy and soft. Felt nice while I chewed on it.

The weight watchers in the family went with the Greek Salad. It was a colourful dish with fresh romaine lettuce, onions, tomatoes all tossed in Izzi's special italian dressing topped with fetta cheese and sundried tomato.

For the main course we went for the Cambodian Chicken. This was a spicy one.

Grandpa ordered the vegetable Pizza but we all digged in aswell.

The Chicken steak with pasta smelled very nice with all the mushroom sauce oozing all over. It was a boneless piece with small serving of salad to go with it.

Then came the Spicy Italian Sausage Linguine. The sausage was lamb and it was tossed in Italian herbs paste. We tried a little of everything, I manage to get a bite of pasta and of course my favourite the dough ball.

For desert we had the Apple Strudel. The weigh watchers yet again ruined my plans of having some ice-creams and other items that were rich in cream.

All in it was a good dinner outing cause with the good food and equally good bill in the end, we had a fantastic celebration. Poniters to the uncles and aunties at Izzi, you need to put in a little effort in hiring additional hands cause the place was packed with people and most of them might have got their meals late just as we did.

My First Cut & Pool Experience

Last Friday, I cut a deal with Grandma to cut loose from her clutches so that I can cut my teeth walking on my own. While trying to cut corners I got cut both ways, walked independently on the streets and a cut on my knee.

Daddy's first aid skills came in handy (although the dressing is quite messy) and no I did not drop a tear.

Despite my injury, I insisted on trying out my new swimming pool the very next day, I haven't got my 2 piece bathing suit yet but a shorts and a singlet is sufficient for a tryout.

Note to Daddy: The next time, Please fill the pool to the brim.
